The Al-Sufouh transit system is the first ever tram network in the Gulf region. The project comprised of 11 tram stations in the first phase, 4 of which required air-conditioned pedestrian bridges.
The bridges are in close proximity to the tram stations, while the one located at the foot of the Palm Jumeirah connects to the Palm monorail development.
